The Longest Blog Post In The History Of Blog Posts

I'm going to be bouncing all over today, so bear with me. I'll try to use the enter key a bit more often than I usually do, to stay organized.

I will also attempt to go a la 4th grade outlines. Let's see how this goes!

A. Spinning
1. I spun my first hand-combed blend!

  • a. It's very soft
  • b. It's a blend of angora, alpaca, and silk.
  • c. There isn't very much, but I had fun learning how to blend-this is going straight to my trophy-yarn pile!
  • d. Here's a picture of it!
Oooh fuzzy soooft!
2. Blanket Spinning
  • a. I got all of the single spinning done by the beginning of Februrary, but I am still plying
  • b. I have two balls of yarn already plied:
They look bigger in real life
  • c. I can't find the stick that connects the two parts of my niddy-noddy together, so I can't make skeins.
  • d. Just for kicks, here's my plying setup:So, yeah.
What's on the bobbins still
B. Knitting
1. I have my dad's socks done!
  • a. Here he is wearing them:
I used some extra white yarn, since I ran out of the sock yarn
  • b.The colorway was Ominous Skies, which is fitting, when you think that he's a water resourses manager (he studies storms)
  • c. The pattern was a simple plug-in-the numbers plan-I got mine from Spin-Off, but I'm sure there's on on Knitty.
  • d. He doesn't like how short they are, so next time, I'll get 300-400 yards for his socks!
2. I've started my brother's socks!
  • a. Here's my progress!
Just over the heel!
  • b. The colorway is Argyle Socks, it's a tad darker in real life than in the photo.
  • c. I'm using the same pattern as dad's socks (see B 1 c)

C. New Yarn!
1. It's from ebay
2. It's white
  • a. I'm planning on dyeing it
3. It's really thin, so I'm probably going to ply it.
4. Picture time!
  • a.
17 hundred yards of merino goodness!
D. An Award? For Me?
1. It's called the "You Make My Day" Award
2.
It looks like this:
3. aksunflower gave it to me
4. I'm going to give it to two people

E. The End
1. Goodbye!

Cute socks! The socks look really big on your Dad's feet. o_O He must have some tiny feet...or he must have some big feet. Hum. The spinning looks pretty good! I love ply, it's so yummy - right? =D

As for the merino - 17 hundred YARDS?! D=< I don't like you no mores - unless you share. :) Hehe.

So that's what you have been up to instead of blogging. I am in an internet surf mode lately and I haven't been doing much yarn stuff. I guess I better get busy! Great work on your spinning and socks!

Teehee - I did a wordy post like that awhile ago, too. I remember those outlines...they were actually kind of useful. I still do them sometimes.

The outline format was an excellent idea.
The socks have a really pretty colorway.

How does one ply yarn?
Hope that your family is out of all the storms paths.

I'm not sure how you do it all!
That yarn looks so soft, you should be proud!
