Pictures, Pictures, Pictures!

Hi,

Earlier, I couldn't get any text down to a second line, and now it's working. Weird.
OK, here's the pictures I promised:

This is my spinning wheel, my Lendrum. The yarn on it now is just plain white merino, nothing fancy.

This skirt is not sewn up yet, I'll keep you posted.

And now, the yarns of the day.........

That will be the Subway Sweater. The bottom (skirt) will be...

This yarn! Please excuse the bad picture. It really does look good!

Both are very soft cotton. I was told that knitting with Touche yarn (the light blue) is similar to knitting with silk. This is going to be fun! I will keep you posted, but no promises on how often. It's the last month of school, so I'll be busy, busy, busy!

And Now, Information To Prove I Have Not Disappered Off The Face Of The Earth

No, I do not have any pictures for you today. Sorry!
I am, however, planning to have lots of pictures to show you tomorrow:
-Doll Skirt
-YARN!
-Spinning Wheel (at the request of my DA, or darling aunt)
See ya tomorrow--for real this time!

NOOOOOOO!!!

Sadly, there wasn't enough yarn to finish the skirt if it stays the length it is now, so I'm going to frog it and make it slightly shorter.
I'm going to a play for school tonight, so I have plenty of time to work on it! (Not during the actual play, of course, but think of all of the minutes as the orchestra is warming up, the intermission........) See you tomorrow!

And Now, Back To Our Feature Presentation...

Well, here it is...
The skirt is a past project.....the shirt is the thing I made on just one bus trip. It looks low, but any higher and the shirt doesn't fit over her head. I guess that's why the companies always make doll clothes with a zipper or velcro.
I'm working on a skirt to match...
Yup, that's all I did.
And I might have to frog (rip-it, rip-it) all out.....I'm not sure if I have enough of this type of yarn. Oh, well. It'll keep me busy until I get my yarn for my other projects.
TTFN!

Just Kidding!

I said you weren't going to get much knitting-related out of me, but here I am, still posting. Oh, well.
OK, my final decision is the Sassy Ruffled Skirt with the Subway Sweater (the sweater is a smaller version of the Spring Breeze Top).Thank you, Subway Knitter!
Now all I need to get is the yarn, which I will when I visit my KG (knitting grandma) this weekend. What will I do until then? I'll knit doll clothes with some white wool handspun. Yesterday, I got a top done in one bus ride! Will show picture tomorrow..........Stay Tuned!

Sorry, I Can't Come To The Computer Right Now...

You aren't going to be getting much knitting-related out of me for the next week. I have tests on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday; I'll have to be studying. I'll blog on my choice of shirt by Friday.
Happy Monday!

So Many Patterns, So Little Time!

For 4-H, I am going to enter an outfit into the fair under Heritage Arts. I've alread decided the skirt, but I'm working on finding a top pattern. I'm considering a shirt from the book The Yarn Girl's Guide To Simple Knits. There's also this. I'd have to change the pattern drastically since I am rather small. Do you think it would look weird if I changed it to 3/4 arm sleeves? I could also do this. This might not match with the skirt...I'm not sure. I will keep on updating you with this.

Something Changed.....

No, it's not your imagination, I did change the background. I'll be experimenting with backgrounds for a while, just to have a little bit of fun. If you have any thoughts on the types I am testing, please leave a comment. Thanks.

Happy Birthday Little Brother!

Hooray!
I finished them in time!

Now, he's happily wearing them. One ended up being a tad too big, so I had to fix that (you can see how the slipper on the left is a little flat on the toe), but overall, they worked out!
Pattern:
I cast on the number of sts it would take to go from ankle around the heel to ankle on my wee widdle (he wanted me to add that!) brother, knitted in garter stitch till I got past his ankle, then knitted in garter stitch to the end of the foot, then decreased and threaded yarn through the remaining sts, pulled tight, then sewed up.

I Actually Figured Out How To Use The Camera!

With a little bit of poking around (aka pushing random buttons), I did it! Here's the WIP:
This will be a slipper for my little brother. I'm hoping I can make a pair in time for his birthday this Friday.

The slipper is not much to look at, but just wait until it's done!
The heel is in garter stitch, with the rest of the foot in stockinette stitch. I still have to knit an inch or two to compensate for my brother's foot. After that, I'll decrease for the toes. Then I'll sew it up.

This slipper is based on a pattern which was mentioned in my knitting calendar. When I first tried out the pattern, I misunderstood the instructions and used what was supposed to be the heel for a bit of length up the leg. I ended up with floppy tubes that had one end scrunched up. If you put them on, and then walk around for a couple minutes, they slip off. (They're still comfortable, though!) I'm hoping my brother's turn out a bit better.

Testing....1,2,3..........

Hi, this is my first time with a blog, so you'll have to bear with me. Tomorrow, I'll show you a WIP for my little brother, as his birthday is coming up. No, I won't be giving it away. He already knows about it. In fact, he's reading over my shoulder right now. (Though he claims he isn't!)
